1st XV results

Another strong performance from our boys resulted in a 78-3 win against Sancta Maria College on Saturday. We played an exciting style of rugby, used the ball well and defended strongly. To Sancta Maria’s credit they never stopped trying, however our boys commitment to keeping them tryless meant that they were unable to cross our line. It was pleasing to see that the tactics we worked on in training were able to be used during the game.

 A big thank you to all staff who attended the game, your support and encouragement means a lot to the boys. The team make mention of the kind words and encouragement that staff members pass onto them , this really helps us in supporting the boys to meet their attendance targets.

Our next game is this Saturday at home against Rutherford College, kick off is at 12pm.

1st XV v Kia Aroha College

Our 1^st XV played their opening game on Saturday against Kia Aroha College. The boys played with a lot of spirit and came away with a 89 -5 win.

Kia Aroha never stopped trying and their efforts were to be commended. Our boys played a strong, physical style of rugby and were worthy winners. We were able to score 15 tries and converted 7 of them.

 

Players, coaches and management would like to express their sincere thanks to Miss Eldridge, and Miss Pettifer and the Year 13 students who helped to organise the after match function. The meal we shared with the players, coaches and management from Kia Aroha was amazing.

 

A big thank you to all staff who attended the game, your support and encouragement means a lot to the boys.

Parent Consultation Evening

Please note there is a Reporting Evening for PARENTS of seniors on Wednesday 4^th April 4pm – 7pm in the senior school hall. School will be open as normal for pupils.

POLYFEST if you attend the parents evening you will receive a free ticket to the Polyfest  performance on Thursday night.

Physical Education 3 Day Camp   In February 2012, the Level 2 Physical Education students from PED 201 went on a 3 day camp.  They were required to monitor behaviours on a scale system whereby at the top of the scale they were working towards helping others rise to higher levels on the behaviour modification scale.  The students were put into four teams and assigned roles.  Each team was given responsibilities to help cook and clean during their stay at Kokako Lodge.  Some examples of exceptional behaviours performed at the camp included:  students carrying injured through a tramp, encouraging others not to give up on various activities, helping without being asked to clean and cook for students.    All students commented on how much they thoroughly enjoyed the experience and have even asked for another one!  So far 24 out of the 29 students that went have achieved their assessment.  Many have received merit and excellence.  The five that didn't achieve have yet to submit their student logs and self-assessment.  Its a shame that I can't post more pictures than what is here.
